MEET THE TEAM

Greetings, my name is Emma Crosswhite. I am currently a senior at Missouri State University, studying as a public relations major with a minor in mass media. Through my studies, I have been particularly blessed to start my own business where I specialize in design and social media management. As an entrepreneur myself I have a great appreciation for small businesses especially those in my very own hometown of Springfield, MO. My aspiration for this platform is to urge others to explore areas that they may not have in the past and gain a larger appreciation for the hard work of their community to provide great spaces.

Hello! My name is Kyle Richardson. I am currently in my senior year at Missouri State University, double majoring in Creative Writing and Public Relations. In addition, I’m pursuing a certification in Conflict and Dispute Resolution. I’m currently working two-thirds time as the Marketing and Communication Assistant for the Academy of Hair Design, a small beauty school out in Springfield. My passion for small businesses began when I moved to Springfield and fell in love with the vibrant life of this city. My hope is that this project makes all of our readers fall just a little more in love with this amazing town.

My name is Katie Taylor and I am a senior public relations major at Missouri State University. I quickly fell in love with public relations being able to use my creative abilities to represent a company/brand. I was actively involved within my sorority and ran our social media platforms. It was a great way to learn about how to create engaging content, and how to keep our followers and sisters engaged with our platforms. This past summer I was a PR and Earned Media intern for an amazing company where I was able to put my skills to work. It was so eye opening and allowed for me to expand my experience and showed me all the different things that a PR professional can do.
